Since 2016, the Digital Summit the focus of the theme every year. This year's theme is "More sustainability through digitalisation". The goal is to improve the living situation and make the planet liveable for future generations. To achieve this, Germany has committed to 17 goals:
The world is becoming more and more digital, and most of us can no longer imagine life without smartphones, the internet & co. Digitalisation as well as the market for data centres are constantly increasing, so it is important to develop suitable infrastructures and promote environmentally friendly, efficient cloud services and energy-efficient technology.
Since 2011, we have made it our mission to develop and build such sustainable digital infrastructures to meet the demands of a sustainable future.
Cloud&Heat and secustack at the Digital Summit
On 1 December at 9.45 am, our CEO and co-founder Nicolas Röhrs will present our technology. Data centre energy consumption is growing steadily, with electricity demand expected to increase to 3.2 percent by 2030. It is more than important to find sustainable solutions and develop technologies that meet the requirements of a sustainable future.
With our technology, it is possible to save energy through reduced consumption of onboard fans, higher efficiency in the cooling system and recovery and use of waste heat.
AI providers running on sustainable infrastructures
In a best practice example, we show that AI providers prefer sustainable infrastructures for their services. For example, Nyris, a virtual search engine that requires 8 kW for its AI application, saves up to 11 t of CO2 (compared to a normal data centre) by operating on our infrastructure. That is as much as 900 trees or 1 ha of forest would have to absorb.
Sustainability and safety go hand in hand
In order to build sustainable infrastructures, these must be secure. Marius Feldmann, one of the CEOs of secustack, will highlight the relevance of digital sovereignty in the cloud in a presentation on 1 December at 9.45 am. While hyperscalers still dominate the data centre market, it is very important to make sustainable, digital infrastructures economically attractive. With data security and protection, we can do that.
