Josephine Seifert and Anja Strunk at OpenStack Summit Vancouver 2018
Of course, Cloud&Heat will not miss this event either. Last week members of our Cloud Innovation team were on site in Vancouver to get a condensed overview of the development status of important projects in the OpenStack ecosystem.
On the other hand, the results of the extension of the free cloud platform operating under the name “SecuStack” should be presented. The OpenStack security features developed jointly with our partner secunet over the last one and a half years holistically enforce cryptographic tennant separation and give the user control over key materials and crypto algorithms.
The presentation given by Matthias Votisky (secunet Security Networks AG) and Anja Strunk (Cloud&Heat Technologies) was followed with high interest by about 100-150 participants. Afterwards, there was an active debate about SecuStack in the associated question round. One of the most important questions was when the extensions will be made available upstream to other OpenStack users.
We are currently evaluating which parts of our extension will be made available and in which order. We will try to integrate first features into the regular OpenStack project as soon as possible. For the next OpenStack Summit in autumn 2018 in Berlin it is planned to present these extensions as well as the current status of SecuStack.
Future of Compute.
