Cloud&Heat becomes Silver Member in the Open Infrastructure Foundation

    5.02.2021 - by Theresa Kambor

Why open source? Because it works! OpenStack has proven the model and has become one of the most actively developed open source projects worldwide and its community is increasingly growing.

    The movement of open infrastructures

With over 100,000 members in 187 countries, the Open Infrastructure Foundation connects people and companies from all over the world who are dedicated to Open Source. The foundation aims to help the community establish new open source communities and develop open infrastructures, like Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, CI/CD, Container Infrastructure, Edge Computing and Cloud Computing.

Open Infrastructure Foundation seats its first Board of Directors

Last week, the Open Infrastructure Foundation announced, that the Foundation Board of Directors has expanded to 27 individuals, including engineers from Facebook, Ant Group and Red Hat.

“It’s exciting to see the open infrastructure movement grow at such a rapid pace, as evidenced by having more platinum members than we’ve ever had before, more Open Infrastructure community members encompassing infrastructure experts who operate some of the largest infrastructure in the world” said Mark Collier, COO, Open Infrastructure Foundation.1

    Cloud&Heat becoming Silver Member

Since we’ve been working with OpenStack, the Open Source standard for cloud infrastructures since 2012, it was just a matter of time to become an Open Infrastructure Foundation member. During the last years, we have developed great OpenStack expertise as well as a deep knowledge of life cycle management, operations and monitoring, maintenance, and optimization. We have been offering Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) since 2012. Recently we added Platform as a Service (PaaS) with Managed Kubernetes, based on vanilla OpenStack with additional security enhancements to our portfolio and look forward to further contributions to the community.
