Streaming-Anbieter, wie MagentaGaming der Telekom, verwandeln dabei nahezu jedes Endger\u00e4t wie PC, Smartphone oder Smart-TV in eine High-End-Gaming-Konsole. So sind virtuelle Abenteuer auch ohne teure Hardware immer und \u00fcberall m\u00f6glich. Eine aktuelle Studie<a href=\"#_ftn1\" data-wplink-edit=\"true\">[1]<\/a> geht 2024 von mehr als 42 Millionen aktiven Nutzern weltweit bei einem Umsatz von mehr als 3,8 Milliarden Euro aus. Da die Berechnungen der Gaming-Streams nicht lokal, sondern in Hochleistungs-Rechenzentren stattfinden, steigen die Rechenleistung und der Stromverbrauch der Serveranlagen. Dabei \u00fcbertrifft der Energiebedarf f\u00fcr diese Anwendungen den des Streamings von Filmen oder Musik um ein Vielfaches. Das massive Wachstum und die damit einhergehenden Probleme f\u00fchren zu einem Umdenken der<\/strong><strong> Anbieter: <br \/>So startet die Telekom zusammen mit Cloud&amp;Heat Technologies einen Piloten, um den Stromverbrauch und damit die Umweltbelastung der Gaming-Server zu reduzieren. Ein energieeffizientes wassergek\u00fchltes Rechenzentrum verringert den Stromverbrauch der K\u00fchlung signifikant. Zudem wird die Abw\u00e4rme zum Beheizen von Geb\u00e4uden genutzt. Beides f\u00fchrt zu einer deutlichen Reduktion des CO2-Aussto\u00dfes. F\u00fcr diese nachhaltige und<\/strong><strong> zukunftsweisende L\u00f6sung hat die Telekom k\u00fcrzlich das Efficient Solutions Label der Solar Impulse Foundation erhalten.<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>MagentaGaming-Server: Bis zu 70 Prozent Energieersparnis dank Cloud&amp;Heat-Technik<\/strong><\/p><p>F\u00fcr das Projekt MagentaGaming hat Cloud&amp;Heat das Hochleistungs-Rechenzentrum in Bonn mit einer innovativen Hei\u00dfwasser-Direktk\u00fchlung ausgestattet und gemeinsam mit der Telekom-Tochter Power and Air Solutions die K\u00fchl- und Geb\u00e4udeinfrastruktur entwickelt. Das wassergek\u00fchlte Serverrack wurde auf Basis der leistungsf\u00e4higen Nvidia-RTX-Grafikkarten konzipiert und hat w\u00e4hrend der Beta-Phase die Zielsetzung \u2013 verglichen mit einer herk\u00f6mmlichen Luftk\u00fchlung \u2013 Energieersparnisse von rund 30 Prozent nachzuweisen. Gleichzeitig reduziert sich auch die Umweltbelastung: Im Vergleich* zu Gaming-PCs spart das Cloud-Gaming mit einem wassergek\u00fchlten RTX-Server bei einer Auslastung von 160 Spielern w\u00e4hrend einer Stunde Spielzeit \u00fcber 44.000 gCO\u2082 (etwa 70 %). Die entspricht einer Fahrt mit einem durchschnittlichen PKW von Hamburg nach N\u00fcrnberg von ungef\u00e4hr 570 km.<\/p><p>\u201eEines unserer Kern\u00fcberlegungen bei der Lokalisierung unserer Gaming Datencenter, warneben m\u00f6glichst geringen Latenzen und Entfernungen zu den Kunden, auch die Verf\u00fcgbarkeit von Strom und Abw\u00e4rmeleistung.
