Our reference projects

Based on our innovative cloud package, the Datacenter in a Box, we are able to meet the individual requirements of companies and authorities for a secure, flexibly scalable, cost- and energy-efficient IT infrastructure. Whether classic server rooms, mobile container solutions or a distributed cloud infrastructure - together with our customers, we design a customized cloud concept and are available as a competent partner in all project phases. Find out more about our recent projects below.

Green cloud solution in sea freight container for a wide range of applications

The Cloud & Heat Containers enable us to flexibly scale, while at the same time ensuring cost-effectiveness through sustainability. OpenStack at the highest level of security and operations from a single source.

Kristian Osestad | Envirotech Solutions

For our Norwegian partner Envirotech Solutions, we have built the world's first direct water-cooled, mobile data center into a conventional ISO sea freight container. Equipped with six server cabinets, which provide space for network, storage and powerful compute components, we realize maximum package densities at minimum space. The data center peripherals such as hydraulics and cable management can be stored in a space-saving, orderly and clean way thanks to a practical double floor. Through its intelligent design, the data center offers full flexibility for uninterrupted, smooth operation and is ready for transport within two hours. As the computing power demand increases, the infrastructure can be extended flexibly by adding additional container modules. Initially, a basic OpenStack installation was installed for the cloud operation. This provides basic functionalities for the operation of a cloud and can be expanded as required by extending the OpenStack source code. The waste heat from the container data center can either be fed into the local district or district heating network in Scandinavia or can be connected to existing heating systems of buildings.

Classic server rooms to run secure, scalable cloud infrastructures

With its unique energy-efficient and cost-effective technology, Cloud & Heat Technologies is the perfect partner for us for the conversion and further operation of the former ECB data center in Frankfurt.

Marcus Dressler | Commerz Real

In the former data center of the European Central Bank in Frankfurt am Main, we are already using existing peripherals. By commissioning our own server solution, we give the necessary upgrade to the technically outdated data center. In addition to office area and peripherals, the premises offer space for a total of 42 server cabinets per floor, which are equipped with powerful computer and storage units. When fully exhausted, the servers produce up to 300 kW of waste heat on each floor. The heat is absorbed and transported from the heat hotspots thanks to a highly efficient direct cooling system. It is used directly on site to heat the resident office and conference rooms, hotels or restaurants. In the fall of 2017, the data center goes online and forms the basis for classic IaaS and the provision of cost-effective hosted private cloud solutions in the heart of Frankfurt.

Low latencies and optimized backup possibilities through distributed data center location

Renewable energy as well as cloud services are the future. We are pleased to have gained a successful partner in the field of sustainable data centers as a project partner with Cloud&Heat.

Carsten Lagemann | innogy TelNet GmbH

Innogy SE and its subsidiary VSEnet GmbH rely on Cloud&Heat IT infrastructure offerings to build their own corporate cloud solution. For the listed subsidiary of the German energy supplier RWE, Cloud&Heat is implementing the concept, planning and installation of a corporate OpenStack cloud distributed over three locations. Each of the three locations offers space for additional server racks, which we can respond with agility to in terms of further computing power requirements. The expansion of the cloud infrastructure is also flexible. Thanks to its many years of know-how in the construction and operation of their own data centers and cloud infrastructures, Cloud&Heat is a competent partner in all project phases. After deployment, the distributed deployment remote is managed and maintained by Cloud & Heat. Cloud support also comes from Dresden. The resulting waste heat from the servers is used on site to heat office buildings.
