1st place in category 5 (resource-efficient data centers)
2nd place in category 2 (data center air conditioning and cooling)
One of the first industry highlights of the year took place yesterday evening. The German Data Center Award was presented for the ninth time in a festive atmosphere at Chameleon Beach in Flörsheim am Main. After already bringing the prize home to Dresden in 2015 and 2016, we had our sights set on winning a third title in this year’s competition. Christian Kallenbach, Senior Sales Advisor at Cloud&Heat, travelled to Hesse for us and was dressed for success. The intensive preparations – and many crossed fingers – paid off in the end. Cloud&Heat won the German Data Center Award in category 5 (resource-efficient data centers), as well as taking second place in category 2 (data center air conditioning and cooling).
The winning entry from Cloud&Heat „Software-based energy optimization through intelligent load distribution“ addresses a highly relevant topic in the green computing industry. The increase in efficiency of individual data centers has by now reached its physical limits. However, when considering complex data center networks, there is usually still plenty of room for optimization. We have developed a software solution that places applications within a data center network, wherever it makes the most sense from an energy point of view. Distribution is automated on the basis of various metrics, e.g. heat demand, available energy and electricity costs.
Cloud&Heat also convinced the jury in the category „Data center air conditioning and cooling“. With our project „DCnextGen – the data center of the future“ we took second place. The further development of our data center container, with a connected load of up to 500kW, is 100 percent water-cooled, ultra-silent and highly mobile. It is therefore suitable for use anywhere, both in warm and cold climates.
We build the most
energy efficient data centers. Worldwide.
